Hi Natalie. I would probably go with the wireless router myself, it's a bit more standard, and you pretty much know for sure it will work. If you get the USB data card through Verizon, you will need to make sure it works with the Mac. Also, many times, cell providers charge for data plans, and especially to use data over a computer. Also, if you want to learn a bit more about voice over, I have recorded 3 pod casts on using the mac and voice over, and you can find these at blindcooltech.com. I'm sure you will enjoy the mac, and there is lots of help available. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Natalie" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "General discussions on all topics relating to the use of Mac OS Xby theblind" <[email protected]>

Subject: New to the Mac and a question

Hi everyone. My name is Natalie, and I just got a Mac book last weekend for a birthday present. i know nothing about Macs so learning the key commands for voiceover has taken me longer than it should, but I haven't had a whole lot of time to play with the Mac much either. That brings me to my question. I still don't have it hooked up to the net yet, and am still using a Windows desktop for email and stuff which I do plan to keep. Are wireless routers really difficult to set up and install and stuff? I can't decide if I want to buy a wireless router and keep my current Internet provider or if I want to switch to the wireless USB card things that Verizon has which I do have my cell phone through. Any thoughts would be great, I would just like to get the Mac on the net soon so I can learn and do more with it. Natalie
