Hi!
Yes, you can still connect your desktop to the router either either by
connecting the machine directly to the router using an ether net cable
or by using the desktop with a wireless connection.
No question is stupid; I was wondering the same thing when I went mac,
but as time goes on you will probably use the windows desktop less and
less.
Good luck with the learning curve! If there is anything I can do to
help, let me know!

Thanks for the info. I will still be able to connect my Windows
desktop to it as well right? Sorry for all the stupid questions,
I'm new at all this.

Hi Natalie!
Welcome to the world of macs! :) I got my macbook in December and
love it!
I have the airport wireless router manufactured by apple, and
verizon as my ISP. It was very easy to set up, and I find the
connection to be extremely fast and reliable.
If you end up with the airport router and need help setting it up
drop me an email and I'll see if I can talk you through it.
Enjoy your macbook!

Hi everyone. My name is Natalie, and I just got a Mac book last
weekend for a birthday present. i know nothing about Macs so
learning the key commands for voiceover has taken me longer than
it should, but I haven't had a whole lot of time to play with the
Mac much either. That brings me to my question. I still don't
have it hooked up to the net yet, and am still using a Windows
desktop for email and stuff which I do plan to keep. Are
wireless routers really difficult to set up and install and
stuff? I can't decide if I want to buy a wireless router and
keep my current Internet provider or if I want to switch to the
wireless USB card things that Verizon has which I do have my cell
phone through. Any thoughts would be great, I would just like to
get the Mac on the net soon so I can learn and do more with it.
