Hi, I think a MS ribbon like interface would really improve the ease of use
of OOo.

One way it could be integrated to OOo, is by the 'tabs' replacing the
'menus' (like file, edit, view).

The graphics on open office need improving anyway, and the ribbon should be
optional, because some people don't like change.

a rough template for the ribbon could be:

TABS (the menus, this bar is small)
main toolbar (first menu drop-down, this bar is large)
second toolbar, with scrollbar (second, third, ect drop-down, appeir as
toolbars under one scrollbar, this bar is mediem)
UI window-bar (windows that were opened from the drop-downs are shown as a
bar here, this bar is large)

Page (with live update. behind the page should be a changeable bg image)

might look something like this:

* file edit clipboard view insert
format  table  tools  window
help                                                *
newv  open  save  save_as  wizards
*
ect...                                                                   *
^
Text Doc. Spreadsheet Presentation Database HTML (web) page XML Form
Master Document                       ||
Drawing Formula Labels Business Cards Templates and Docs.
                               ||

{variable} does not open a window

it would be good if the gray BGs could be replaced with loads of gradient bg
images.
