Came this utterance fomulated by Matt Sturgeon to my mailbox:

is OOo going to get a ribbon?

The ribbon in Office 2007 is a bit of a two egded sword for Microsoft. A
lot of existing users don't want to make the change to the ribbon as it
slows their production down trying to find things.

OpenOffice.org at this point in time is a more cost effective upgrade
from older copies of word because less retraining is involved to go
to OO.o than the move to the latest Office.

Yes. The ribbon was the last drop in the glass, it was the final reason to totally break my relationship with MS and change to Linux and OOo and many other OSS.
