I committed the changes. Another thing I will change if noone objects is to
cleanup the build process. Make it easier. Don't depend on the jakarta
taglibs stuff (or should it?).

And I have to fix the famous sort problem (with paging).
Also, if people are interested, I'm thinking about implementing a CSS-only
version of the tag.
Also, we need to refactor the TableTag class, because it is waaaaay too long
now. Make some new helper classes etc.

This is probably an e-mail best sent to the developers list (I cc'd them). 
Since most developers aren't active on this project, I doubt anyone cares. 
And since none of the patches seem to be "real" patches - I don't think
it'll matter.
