But your dad probably does mind the endless enrolments, and thinking up
usernames and passwords that must be good, memorable for a few minutes,
different from the others he already has and which he will never type in
again.  And he probably minds not being able to use any of these
username/password tuples that he doesn't remember when he's using a
computer other than his primary one.  And he'd probably like to be able
to use Internet kiosks (e.g., when travelling w/o a laptop) w/o
endangering his credentials and associated resources.  And he probably
wants to be able to keep these username/password tuples when he
re-installs his system(s) (which he probably also minds doing, but at
least that's not a problem we'll concern ourselves with here).

I think Robert meant that your dad wants to have to remember no more
than one username and password, not that there mustn't be others under
the covers.
