"EDIT://" Oh, and while it is true that it is a bit more work for us to support multiple python versions, I've never seen it that bad. Installing more CI runners which have the matching python versions does not hurt that much either. Actually it might nowadays even be easier on CentOS than on Ubuntu given that the deadsnakes repo is somewhat dead nowadays if I understood that correctly.
