To be honest, I often think about how an e-mail list is actually one of the worst media to help with coding.
Here's some food for thought: wouldn't it be better if we had a django-help project that combined django snippets, a stack overflow-like ratings system (an incentive to both good questions and speedy answers), code highlighting, moderation, open/closed questions, etc?
