Bingo! That was the problem. After clearing out the offending copied admin templates I was able to restore the CSRF code and I'm back on the road again. Thanks again. I'm glad I won't have to ditch Django. I like the interface it provides better than anything I could have rolled myself. As a side note, I'm guessing that turning to the "newer" version of The Django Book won't do me much good, as the dates on the chapter list seem to indicate that nothing has been done since the spring of 2009, and the book is incomplete (and out of date).
