For some reason I get a hard on for Abit boards :))

Should be a good one... You have a lot of control over the boards functions
(more so than any other board I've seen) but this may be a bad thing if you
don't have a clue what you're doing...

Don't know about the socket standard question though.. Sorry..

Thats good to know. I'm looking at the systemax and that comes with a KT266a

Socket A motherboard. (to go with athlon DDR system) Do you think this is a 
wise choice of motherboard with future in mind? I saw something somewhere 
saying the new athlon 2000XP used socket 478 (or something simlilar) so does

this mean socket A is on the way out???
