This one's weird - socket 478 is the type used by the Intel Pentium 4. Looking at the AMD site, 2000XP's certainly run on the Socket A boards. I can't see anything to the contrary on the site, but here's the link: http://www.amd.com/athlonmobo As for Abit boards, I'm running 2 of them, and I totally agree with Nick's comment.
