Thanks for your replies....I kinda knew what you'd all say anyways....Read the fucking manual.... well I have many times, I guess I'm just a bit confused as to what exactly I'm supposed to be using my Emu for........I mean I got a Virus sat here that does all my synth stuff, throws out deadly bass. I really enjoy using the Virus, the manual for it absoluteley rocks too. I get on well with it. Maybe I'm just not using enough sounds in my tunes yet...I can see that the sampler would help out enormously if I ever used all 16 channels of my Virus. And I can see how I can come up with new sounds by sampling synth stuff. Perhaps I should get off my ass and push some buttons on the Emu and see what I can come up with as I haven't really tried to use it for sampling bass or whatever else for that matter. It just seems like a big fuckin pain in the arse to setup the samples etc and setup keygroups, go back and tweak them blah blah blah. Ok so the filters are the dogs bollocks.......well thats great. I think thats why in my heart I prefer software ultimately, all the work is done on a (BIG) PC monitor screen not some crappy LCD, presets can be named from the keyboard not some shitty little pad or jog dial like on the EMu, no faffing around SCSI'ing across samples. Its all in one box... I find it faster to use which to me equals creativity. Plus all these fucking wires are doing my head in. I find it a chore to use right now. I wish I liked my Emu but, I hate to say it, I dont! Its holding me up! I've felt that for a long while. Either that or I need to take my head for a shit, shut the fuck up, and learn it inside out. Or take up flower arranging.
