IMO the best thing for you to do is take a break that you like, lots of old
breaks on the internet Dogsonacid.com (samples section). Then find out the
exact tempo of the break with programs like Recycle, chop it up into the
seperate elements so you end up with seperate files, with a kick, snare,
hi-hat, and whatever else. Have a seperate track for the origianl break and
a then a seperate track for all the chopped up parts, then copy the breaks
structure and once you are happy with this you can speed the sequencer up to
your desired tempo and you will have a tight fast sounding break! For this I
would suggest using the Champion Sound break which has some nice ghost fills
in it, this gives a rolling perception!

Hope that helps, Conspiracee
