Hi Dan,

Glad to hear your bass is sorted althouigh rolling off everything below 40hz sounds quite extreme, can you post audio of your work?

As for phatmatik, I've use it in the past and it's quite good, although somewhat fiddly with the slicing. Its good quick alternative to Recycle and a sampler though as you just drop the loop in and off you go...

Cheers,
Terry

Hi,

I took the collective advice from the list over the weekend on a track and used my parametric EQ to roll off all the low end under 40hz. The tune sounded much better when producing it or recorded to MD or tape and seemed much lighter and energetic when listening to it as opposed to the sucking morass of bass i had previously 8) The bass is still there and more audible, layered with a lighter bassline which is HPFiltered and its all running well with the breaks over the top, which is nice...

Btw does anyone use the Phatmatik Pro VST loop player... looks like a combined Recycle/Dr Rex/NN19 unit with 4outs and up to 16 units useable at a time in the sequencer. I was thinking that it might be the perfect thing for use with a new PC to save using a sampler. Looks a hell of a lot less hassle than the EXS24 and does a lot more what with integrated slicing and all synthesis parameters available for every slice...

Laters
Dan
