Thanks for the input.

So, restricting read access to others only 
is not a viable solution?
I should have say read and write, by the way.

Actually, I checked those links before asking and 
thought was a little bit too involved for my case.

But I think I will go this way in the end.

WebDAV, I didn't know about, that looks interesting
as well.
