Ok, a friend just sent me some modified logos. His first remark when he
saw the site a few days ago was the that logo faded into the site too much.
He's a "brand identity specialist" for his design firm, as he says. He
had a graphic designer he works with mock up a few logos.

Since the mod_perl community had a vote, I assume we are stuck with what we
have.

There's *no need to comment* on this, unless you are totally thrilled about
what you see and you think we could overcome the politics of a change.
Regardless, I just wanted to share them with you.

Let me see if I can summarize what he said, for what it's worth:

His main point was this is about mod_perl, and really the "mod" part of
that. He like the steel-blue of the "perl" part (and noted that it matched
perl.com's choice of color for "perl"). But he thinks that the "mod" part
should be emphasized more, as that's the part that's special about
mod_perl. Currently the gray "recedes" into the background.

He likes the site over all, (he picked test9, too). He thinks it's very
functional and the gray theme very professional/technical looking.

His favorite of the logos is the bottom middle green. Something about it
being "organic", adding a little life to the gray site. He doesn't like
the boxes on top three logo examples so much since there are many other
boxes on the site already (he said the logo should match the design, but
not be just another box).

I do agree they add some spice and a little life to the site.

Have fun!
