Hi Christophe,

While I understand your views, that should not prevent you from testing
alpha and betas and reporting bugs to have a better version for your next
project ;)

Some things you can do:
- Use real data to check for regressions in the upgrade path (This is very
important, particularly if you tend to skip versions).
- Try your customers' critical workflows, again to spot regressions
- Check compatibility with your usual platforms (servers, browsers…)
- Learn and discover new features your customers may need
- Have fun doing that :)

Early feedback is critical. Bug free software simply don't exist without
it. No matter how much effort you put into writing your code, there's
always a corner case you didn't account for, a subtle undesirable side
effect you didn't spot, a language idiosyncrasy you didn't know about, a
shitty browser implementation, a spooky server bug… anything, really.
