Hi Christophe, While I understand your views, that should not prevent you from testing alpha and betas and reporting bugs to have a better version for your next project ;)
Some things you can do: - Use real data to check for regressions in the upgrade path (This is very important, particularly if you tend to skip versions). - Try your customers' critical workflows, again to spot regressions - Check compatibility with your usual platforms (servers, browsers…) - Learn and discover new features your customers may need - Have fun doing that :) Early feedback is critical. Bug free software simply don't exist without it. No matter how much effort you put into writing your code, there's always a corner case you didn't account for, a subtle undesirable side effect you didn't spot, a language idiosyncrasy you didn't know about, a shitty browser implementation, a spooky server bug… anything, really. Off to testing ;) Cheers, *Raphaël Doursenaud* Directeur technique (CTO) Expert certifié en déploiement Google Apps <https://gpcsolutions.fr/raphael-doursenaud-google-apps-certified-deployment-specialist> +33 (0)5 35 53 97 13 - +33 (0)6 68 48 20 10 2015-12-09 4:31 GMT+01:00 Christophe Battarel < [email protected]>: > "It should be great to find a way to focus attention of users and theirs > integrators also to report bugs and requests just after the release to set > a certain "rythm" also." > > We are talking about an ERP, not a browser or a music player ! an ERP > often needs several months to be put in production, and we dont change > version every 6 months ! > > My 2 cents as an integrator. > > --------------------------------------- > > *Christophe Battarel Responsable technique Altairis* > +33 (0)9 52 71 70 96 > Altairis <http://www.altairis.fr> - Blog <http://www.altairis.fr/blog> - > Modules > Dolibarr <http://www.altairis.fr/modules> - Twitter > <https://www.twitter.com/altatof> > > > > > > > > Le 08/12/2015 11:59, Hubert Andriolo a écrit : > > It is just a release calendar to set the steps no ?
