Parked Pages on "live" domains:

In response to the parked page opt in opt out question, I would like to
clarify that all resellers have the option to turn on Parked Pages for live
domains that are not being used for websites, blogs, etc. if they wish. The
reseller is the only one that can turn on a parking page for their live
domains. If you have not updated any live domains with parked pages then
your live domains will not show parked pages (for more details please see
RRC https://rrc.tucows.com/wholesale_services/domain_names/parked_pages/ ).

Parked Pages on Expired domains:

At day -10 of TUCOWS domain life cycle we turn on an "expired domain parked
page" for all domains (Remember you can customize the "expired domain
header" in the RWI with your customer message IE: This domain Has expired
please click here to renew)

Tucows then reviews the traffic, parked page revenue and secondary market
value over the next few weeks then makes a decision to renew or drop the
domain at day -39/-40. We move/renew the domain into an internal account
(Tucows Cost) and continue to share the revenue with the reseller. If the
original end user comes back to renew the domain within the regular grace
redemption period we move the name back as per the rescue process at a cost
of $80.00. Tucows continues to manage the domains in an internal account
at no renewal costs to the original reseller. Parked Page revenue also
continues to be shared 50/50 as long as we own the domain.

Please contact me off list if you have any further questions

Thanks

Subject: [domains-gen] Parked Pages Ad Unit Testing

Hi all,

I'll talk to folks when we're back in the office Monday morning but
here's my quick assessment:

1. We shouldn't be testing anything that impacts your customers
without you knowing about it. If that's the case it was our
mistake. Sorry.

2. We should be respecting your wishes about your involvement in the
Parked Pages Program. If you opted out you shouldn't have to do
anything to "stay opted-out". My guess is this is either
miscommunication on our part or a glitch in our processes. In either
case, sorry for the confusion.

I'll make sure we post an update to the list shortly.

Cheers,

Ken Schafer
