Ken already knows my position but for the record I’m in favour of the return to the $60 fee. >Personally, (I think) I'm glad to see it go back to $60 because (I think) I was losing money at $15 since (I think) I was getting banged out for a renewal fee which exceeded my share of the auction price. Yes James, you were loosing money at base price and this was a major problem. Due to the numbers of domains we were selling at base price we were forced to manually charge the difference or face very large losses. That charging process was terribly manual and added confusion for the clients. Now we can include the renewal we can use that time to promote the system rather than running it (as resellers should be doing). We were also put in an uncompetitive position with DomainDirect – as they were happy not to charge the renewal and take the loss (I assume because they had more favourable terms than us). We can now compete on equal terms again. For those of you complaining, I can only assume you were picking up these domains for yourself rather than selling them to clients? Otherwise you would welcome this! As Ken says, I think there is a good market outside the ‘wholesale’ side and we’re working on a lot of tools in that area. As others have pointed out here though I think there is a good case for letting more quality names into the system. There would be an associated lift in value to the whole system that would help bring in more people/revenue. That may even represent a greater value than the individual return on some of these domains IMHO.
