Peter,
You've misunderstood. By in-line replies, I mean that the text that I
type can be interleaved with the text of the original message, not only
at the top or the end as this is.

Hi,
I still cannot see my sub-sub-folders, but in the meantime I also
cannot find a simple way to respond to messages with my text in-line
and not 'top-posted'.
A search of the Internet seemed to indicate that an Add-on called
'Thunderbird Conversations' would do the trick so I installed it.
This was a problem in itself because the link within the Add-ons tab
pointed me to files that were the wrong version and showed up as
corrupt. I eventually worked out that I had to install it as an
Extension and not an Add-on.
The trouble is that apart from providing the capability of writing
in-line Replies it also re-organised all the messages in my folders,
archiving most of them, (but not all), and then proudly displaying
the resulting mess in the side-bar. I've now uninstalled that.
Is there a simple way to write in-line replies in Thunderbird?
If not, it's back to KMail for me, because it may lead me into making
mistakes occasionally, but it doesn't garble everything and allows me
to compose messages the way *I* want to and not the way it thinks I
should ;-(
Hi Terry,
1. In top corner there is a ladder like symbol. That puts all my
replies to an email as indented under the orig mail.
2. I have four accounts using thunderbird, and no problems with
seperate folders for things like DLUG. I have no sub-folders. My
filters even work across accounts, in that an email coming in to one
account gets filterd off to a folder under another account.
my thunderbird is 52.9.1 (64 bit)
