Well, it keeps going up and up, and artificially loading memory up uses swap, rather than freeing up any memory, so I would beg to differ, unless you can provide me with a reason for this behaviour (and I wouldn't be surprised if there was a good reason, I just don't know what it is!) :) Hamish
