Hi Monty,

Do people do this (I don't know of anyone customizing
it to be different than the win taskbar)? Do we want
to let them do this?

There are some settings that need to be set differently from windows..  The calendar for example poses problems with some color schemes with the colors of the events on the calendar/ghosted day numbers etc.. If the user can now specify a color of events in the calendar, he might want to be able to specify a specific color for the calendar background that works with them.

What if a user changes the colors on their machine which causes the calendar hard to read?

Besides, why not allow it?

Hi Shawn,

I see the css themes going away with Kim's new

deskbar

container since it can listen for windows theme
changes and can ask for the current colors. This

lets

them just mess with the Windows colors which

they're

probably more used to and we (DQSD) adapts to it.

This would be great for getting the default colors,
but aren't we still
going to need the css for other settings? What
about allowing the user
to create a specific look/feel for the toolbar
unrelated to the windows
scheme?
