You have it perfect in your example. It cycles through other entries in
the history that include the text YOU TYPED. So, for example, if you had
the following history:
sfp dqsd
dqsd
www.dqsd.net
stargate
yg dqsd
qsfind gg
qscb
Typing in "dqsd" then pressing F8 would cycle one by one UP the list for
all terms including that exact text (yg dqsd -> www.dqsd.net -> dqsd ->
sfp dqsd). The search box is replaced by the historic value each time,
but F8 somehow remembers exactly what it is I typed in, and if I press
ESC it returns to that value ("dqsd").

Will it be possible to set a /global/ keyhook that will send the active
text in the /current/ application through a predetermined 'search'? I'd
like to be able to highlight text and use "win+shift+d" to go to the
dictionary or "win+i" to lookup the selection within dnsstuff.com. Any
chance we can expect this on the horizon?
