I didn't change the "select at test" resistor at the meter slide switch. Pulled up one end and it tested at 150 ohms, which I believe is within spec. The old shunt resistor tested 5 ohms, so I changed it out with a replacement 3.3 ohm. Have not done anything more than that. Don't know if my Rat Shack DMM would be any more accurate. The plate idling current showed considerably lower after that change. BTW, when checking my CW signal with xcvr, I now have a slight AC ripple, and also on SSB. I checked the AC-4, and found that the 250 volt line shows 2 volts AC when testing under the chassis with the PS plugged into the xmtr. Checked pin 11 on the Cinch-Jones plug with the PS isolated from the xmtr, and AC voltage was nil (?!). Looks like the next order of business is to replace C4 in the AC-4. C1 and C2 are also the originals and appear to be OK (gosh they're only what, 35 years old?) but will order replacements from Mouser. Still have work to do : - )
