Ok guys I think that there is some confusion out there. this will not be a "freq counter"!!! it will be a crystal sub box just like the FS-4. it will connect to a crystal slot on any of the 4 line and SPR-4's. it will not read the PTO's freq. you will use the PTO the same way you would with a crystal. the resolution will be at the PTO.

the 3 LED readouts will show the same way as the 3 dials of a FS-4. when tuned to 30 meters it will say 10.0 while it is generating 21.1! The FS-4 changes in .5 MC steps. It will totally dupe the FS-4 in this regard. nothing else makes sense.

now as far as up-down buttons vs a VCO, I would like to put it to a vote. The original idea design was planned for a VCO but I thought personally that I would like buttons but lets see the consensus. Someone suggested blue LED's to match the line I will check on that.

one more thing if this item would not be top quality I would not involve myself so that will not be a issue. Dan

I believe a 500 kc step is indeed the appropriate increment. Any other increment would make the PTO dial extremely difficult to interpret.
