"Ron Baker" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the drakelist gang ---------------------------------------------------------------------- All, you also may want to check out my new article on the TR7, What's Inside The Drake TR-7". I have a nice piece on a fan modification for the radio using a 24DC fan that works great. You can wire it for TX keyed switching or continuous. The fan is just like the original FA-7 but runs very quiet and provides a constant air flow to the radio when wired for continuous operation. If you really need the high velocity just use a 12 volt version fan wired the same way. I did this to both my TR7 and TR5 and its works great, and the fan noise is hardly noticeable.

It runs at 1900rpm, producing 20cfm, and a "noise rating" of 26.2dba (VERY quiet!) You can buy them BRAND NEW, from many electronic supply houses, such as Digi-Key....for about $28.00 with the AC power cord already attached. 73, Garey - K4OAH Glen Allen, VA Drake 2-B, 4-B & C-Line Service Supplement CDs <www.k4oah.com> Don Cunningham wrote: > Steve, > You can buy an EXCELLENT fan from Mouser, much quieter, and not 30 > years old for less than half that.
