This is not a Drake related question but when submitted to the Hallicrafters group, it got no response.
I have acquired a Hallicrafters HA-8 Splatter Guard (Choice name for a pseudo modulation monitor) minus the detector and interconnecting coaxial 'TEE'. It looks like a simple matter to build a detector but I have a question about the 'TEE'. Is it just a simple UHF 'TEE' connector or is there some attenuation built in to the original 'TEE'? If it is just a standard UHF TEE connector, it seems like full transmitter power will be applied to the detector. Could this damage the detector or the HA-8? Dick KC9UB
