Yeah, I guess. The clock, main power switch, Wattmeter, rotor control and ten minute timer are all useful to some extent. It certainly 'neatens up' the station wiring! If you operate some of the 'other' modes, the 3 position switch (EQUIP CONTROL) on the panel actually has four SP3T shielded cables capability, PLUS another eight possible positions that are not wired from the factory. These can be very handy for just switching stuff around such as keyers for multiple stations, VOX controls, etc. The phone patch capability isn't much used these days.

Garey,
Thanks...so it looks like even if you don't use the remote antenna switch it's a neat accesory for a C line with L4B and MN-2700?

The "Powermaster" is fairly easy to replicate, just a bunch of holes to cut! I would just put an electrical contactor (any electrical supply place, Home Depot?) in the a 'remote' box with a 240 VAC connector on it (if needed) and then hard wire a power strip(s) to it.

The "Antenna Switch" is a little tougher. The original is a 24V DC motor driving a custom rotary switch to control the motor, ground unused antennas and switch the antenna. There are eight wires to the original 'remote'. A plain old rotary switch is a lot easier, although several relays and a few connectors in a box could substitute for the remote. The original remote is also designed for tower or other outdoor mounting, which would save coax if you have four beams on your tower, but ....

Which is why the basic C-4 without these accessories sells reasonably! :-)
