I don't know that there were NOT white buttons, but while I've seen a
lot of red ones, I've also see quite a few that were white with traces
of red where they went through the glass, or near the base. Possibly a
'Sun' thing?

I have #2277 Drake 2B and it does not have the red button either.
It has the 8BN8 tube.
