Next step in reactivating my T-4XB's: brought input voltage up slowly on
a variac over more than a day, with a clamp-on ammeter before the
variac. Noticed two things:
1. Current draw was 0.6A with about 90VAC and reached 0.9A at full line
voltage. Current rise was more than proportional toward the end of
turning up the variac.
2. The 12BY7 tube was already too hot to leave my fingers on at 65 volts
input.
