If anyone is interested I have a nicely built DDS VFO for the Drake C line. I
have only programmed the 80M offset but it can do all the bands. I used it for
a couple of years until I bought my TR-7. Output level was raised to provide
the correct levels for the RX and TX.

The enclosure is ‘Drake Like’ and also has a switch to allow for a RX Only
antenna. All teflon cables provided. It plugs in the R-4C accessory socket with
a minor mod to the socket. Pix available.

I have used the digital VFO kit from James Hagerty. It is really slick. I am
also using a Micro Bitx to drive my Heath DX60B. This provides a receiver as
well and not expensive.

I have seen the Hallicrafters HA-5. Wondering if there were a modern VFO for
crystal transmitters.

I currently have a TR-7 and TR-4. Just bought a 2C/2NT and have a Heathkit
HW-16 with VFO.
