Hi, I'm a newbie who offered to continue development of the SIS630 DRI drivers. (The non DRI sis X drivers are being maintained by Thomas Winischhofer and he's doing a good job)
My first task it to find out why DRI crashes my computer after a few seconds when any game (I'm using Foobillard) moves an object partially off the screen. I edited sis_render.c source code to disable triangle hardware rendering and that stops the crashes but lowers frame rate from an excellent performance (for a cheap notebook) to a couple of frames per second. Not all computers crash but many do. After I fix the crashes I'll do the conversion to Mesa 4.x driver architecture. I asked SIS for datasheets but I'm still waiting. I fear they're ignoring me. On their web pages they say they have sent datasheets to Xfree86.org. What is the way to gain access to them?
