As a related issue, it also uses 1920x???? to determine how much memory to
allocate for back & depth buffers.  This makes DRI fail to load on a 16MB
Radeon (i.e., my M6!).

(WW) RADEON(0): Statick buffer allocation failed -- need at least 32400 kB video memory

The *ONLY* display mode I have in my XF86Config-4 is 640x480x24!
