The drivers will be doing the work anyway.
Duplicating a lot of work in the drivers which would be better centralized in the driver independent infrastructure. > Altough i get using a virtual screen is the way to go, i have doubts that > the current desktop manager will understand that we are not using a part > of the screen. Must have missed that, the major motivation behind this would be 3D acceleration though. Unfortunately, I just recalled a possibly major problem: AFAIK the 3D engine can only render to a rectangle up to 2048 pixels wide and high. That would be pretty limiting, in particular when the heads are side by side. -- Earthling Michel Dänzer (MrCooper)/ Debian GNU/Linux (powerpc) developer XFree86 and DRI project member / CS student, Free Software enthusiast ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Dri-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/dri-devel
