I've seen similarly pathetic PCI GART performance with newer chips on Macs, but not with older chips (IIRC the M6 worked as expected, but not M7 and M9; I thought this might be related to the L3 cache which was added to PowerBooks at the same time). I basically see two possible reasons: * There's something about newer ATI AGP cards which makes them perform very poorly with PCI GART * Our drivers do something which makes newer chips perform very poorly with PCI GART, be they AGP or PCI The former wouldn't necessarily say anything about PCI cards, but I'm not sure how to determine which it is (and what exactly the actual cause is). -- Earthling Michel DÃnzer | Debian (powerpc), X and DRI developer Software libre enthusiast | http://svcs.affero.net/rm.php?r=daenzer ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: SF.net Giveback Program.
