Hi Alex,

this the log of the X I'm currently running (plain
debian 4.3.0 package without latest dri installed),
I sent you this file just to show my hardware and settings...
with dri binaries installed I had in Xfree86.0.log
a line like this:

(II) RADEON(0): Direct rendering enabled

and glxgears did not complain about DRI extensions
missing (now without dri binaries installed if I launch this app I get
the message: Xlib:  extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0"),
hence I was sure it was enabled.
