Dave,
As the i915tex in its current incarnation was only resurrected mostly to 
show how we believe buffer management should be done, this is probably 
not going to happen. This also means that there may be bugs lurking in 
the i915tex driver that are not high on the priority list to fix.

The next software using this approach will be the gallium i915 driver, 
but that won't be up to full speed until we have tiled private 
back-buffers, and that's not really done yet.
