Considering the "2 drivers for the same chip" trauma some (many?)
people here have I would rate the chances for it to be negligible.
That said, the problem seems (to me) to be mostly in productization
policy of Sun' OpenSolaris-based distribution, rather than in the
OpenSolaris itself. There are upcoming technologies (like UV),
that can (or cannot) make the transition procedure much more
manageable.
