That would of course be the preference, but I'd rather have a working
driver.

That's the case I'm hitting. I think someone suggested that the nge
driver was trying to enable hardware checksums on chipsets that doesn't
support it.

I'm pretty sure that there's been bugs logged for this for many months
although most I can find suggest that fixes are in there. I'll take
another look and file another bug.
