Just a note on this… In the RPMS … libdrizzle.so is packages under libdrizzle-devel based on the Fedora Packaging Guidelines…
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Guidelines#Devel_Packages <QUOTE> If the software being packaged contains files intended solely for development, those files should be put in a -devel subpackage. The following are examples of file types which should be in -devel: • Header files (e.g. .h files) • Unversioned shared libraries (e.g. libfoo.so). Versioned shared libraries (e.g. libfoo.so.3, libfoo.so.3.0.0) should not be in -devel. A good rule of thumb is if the file is used for development and not needed for the base package to run properly, it should go in -devel. </QUOTE It's my understanding that 'lib drizzle.so' is not required for the package to run properly, assuming that anything requiring lib drizzle compiles against the *versioned* .so files. --- derks On Jan 22, 2012, at 3:22 PM, Henrik Ingo wrote: > On Sun, Jan 22, 2012 at 11:13 PM, Clint Byrum <[email protected]> wrote: >> libdrizzle-dev is Architecture: any like the others. > > You're right.
