Well, i think that was the initial purpose, however DIM is currently being used
to be exposed through public interfaces (like OAI - DSpace OAI Harvest for
example, also Import/Export mechanism).
I also think that, there is nothing better than XSD's (or DTD's) to allow the
creating of DIM structured XML files (as almost all IDE's are making use of
them), so... why not having a XSD for it? There's nothing to lose.
That's my point of view.
