https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC3x/Performance+Tuning+DSpace Alan's right, mostly it boils down to tuning your Tomcat memory settings. Note that this advice only aplies to Tomcat 7 and earlier. During boot-up, Tomcat 8 will explain to you patiently that the old heap settings will be ignored every time you try to set them.
