Sands, Yes. This one is a bit tricky.... and annoying. The trick that I've used is to use load up the page in firefox, then using the plugin firebug (which is awesome and almost essentially for web-development) open the page and add in a new hidden input parameter for XML. That way the page is submitted back with the switch to skip the theme's transformation.
