I prefer to have messages come to me rather that having to perform
an action to see them. I prefer to be able to search them locally with
the tools of my choice rather that being forced to use the (lack of)
features provided by some forum software. I prefer to use the
interface, style of display, etc. of my choice rather that being force
to use what others think is the best. I prefer to see the threads
clearly rather that having to scroll up and down. I prefer an average
of 4-7 KB per message to some hundreds KBs. Etc.

This being said, you are of course free to start a forum :)
