Theoretically, you could run SLIP over it, using it like a dial-up modem. I've 
never tried it, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Might have to do some 
experiments with that some day.

I'm not too familiar yet ith all the software that has been written for D-STAR 
LSD, but if something hasn't been written already, it seems like it would be a 
simple task to write a program that acted as a mail gateway and/or HTTP proxy 
with specific optmizations for D-STAR operation. I've got a project going 
already, but once that's done I might look into this.

Of course, if you can get your hands on a few ID-1's, it's all moot. You've got 
a 128k Ethernet link, and everything already works with that. Just wish they 
weren't so expensive...
