Obviously. You can't turn on a SCSI device *after* the Mac was turned
on. It might work sometimes, but you're almost always sure that the Mac
will lock up. And, to boot off the CD, well, the CD must be in the
drive, that's for sure ;-)
Or maybe I'm misunderstanding what Tom is saying?
