I like the 2300c. Mine has 44MB RAM, and OS 8.1 This leaves about 30MB free
with VM off, whic is enough to run:
Photoshop 3
QuarkXpress 3.3
AppleWorks 5
Eudora 4.3
Netscape
I also have RayDream 3.
I think it's a great workhorse, but AppleWorks is my main programme (I'm an
academic) and all the Gigahertz in the world won't help you write a better
sentence, despite protestations to the contrary. I use a DuoDockII with a
Radius Thunder GTIV graphics card ($24 from eby) running a 16' monitor at
millions of colours, along with external CD drive and ZIP.
The normal advice is to use software contemporary with (or a bit older
than) the machine.
I take the view that with what I have, any limitations in my work will
come from my lack of imagination, rather than from the machinery.
Just my two pennyworth
