Hi Thanks for responses! I had thought about the Classic route but with space a premium I'm not sure there is room. Alphasmarts .. interesting but I'd like the children to explore non linear writing and I'm not sure that Alphasmarts will let me do this. The graphic layer in Nissus writer looks good as I can move text and images around .. thanks Herb! Has anyone run a program Inspiration on an early duo? Point taken about messed up laptops. If I follow this route are there any things I should watch out for in particular as likely to cause problems child + duo + classroom = ?
