A delicate old laptop like a Duo in the hands of any usually careful yet 
energetic youngster that age almost anywhere? Eventually... Oops! Uh oh...

Duo portability will, I believe, over time, come at a high dollar cost to 
you. 

Portability...You might get by with PB170's and 180's. Both are way less 
expensive, have active matrix screens (AFAIK), and work great with 
programs compatible with 6.0.8 and 7.1. RAM capacity might be a problem.
