Can you feel or hear if the hard drive is working? The hard drive is located on the right side of the Duo, right next to the trackball. If you don't feel/hear anything it is either not connected, bad, or missing. Other than that I don't know but an used 230 is not worth much so you might be able to pick up a second one for parts off eBay for as little as $10 (figure about $8-$10 for shipping in most cases) or you could go for a color 280c. 250 is the same as 230 with active screen, 270c is the same as 230 with color screen. And 210 is about half as fast as 230. Unless you need a PPC, don't bother with the 2300, it's still selling in the $100+ range and it runs like it's constipated when plugged into a Dock. I think it's due to the '030 specs in the PDS slot, forcing the PPC to run like a 230. I picked up one off ebay for spare parts for $30 and it had a 28MB module. Swapped it's original 120MB HD with a 500MB HD I had from my last 280c that died. And the seller claimed the battery was dead but I ran the battery amnesia and I can get a little more than 2 hours now so it's a bonus as a good Type 3 is often $50 on eBay. ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
